Is Your Child’s Diet Causing Behavior Problems or Mysterious Symptoms?

Is Your Child's Diet Causing Behavior Problems or Mysterious Symptoms?

Listen on: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube

I’ve worked with many families struggling with mysterious symptoms that seem impossible to pin down. Digestive issues, skin problems, behavioral challenges, sleep disruptions. What many people don’t realize is that food sensitivities could be at the root of these everyday struggles.

Food sensitivities are different from true allergies. Allergies trigger an immediate immune responses, sensitivities create delayed reactions that can show up hours or even days later. This makes them incredibly difficult to identify. Your child might eat something on Monday and not show symptoms until Wednesday, making it nearly impossible to connect the dots without proper testing.

The challenge is that food sensitivities manifest differently in every child. While one person might experience chronic congestion and ear infections, another person deals with anxiety or focus issues. Some kids have obvious digestive symptoms, but others show no gut issues at all. Just behavioral changes or skin rashes that seem to come out of nowhere.

In my practice, I’ve seen how eliminating trigger foods can transform a child’s health. We’re talking about kids who finally sleep through the night, students who can suddenly focus in school, and families who no longer live in constant worry about the next flare-up. But getting there requires understanding which foods are problematic for your specific child.

Testing for food sensitivities has come a long way. We now have reliable methods that can identify immune reactions to dozens of common foods. The key is working with a practitioner who understands how to interpret these results and create a sustainable elimination plan.

If your child has chronic symptoms that haven’t responded to conventional treatment, food sensitivities deserve a closer look. The connection between what we eat and how we feel is powerful. And for many families, identifying and eliminating trigger foods, this is the missing piece.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The difference between food allergies and food sensitivities
  • Why delayed reactions make sensitivities so difficult to identify
  • How food sensitivities show up differently in every child (digestive issues, skin problems, behavioral challenges and sleep disruptions)
  • Why your child’s chronic symptoms might be connected to foods
  • The latest testing methods available to identify which specific foods are triggering immune reactions in your child’s body
