The intersection of spiritual and physical health with Katie Johnston

Listen on: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts

Today, in continuing our collaborative health series, you’re going to hear from Katie Johnston as she offers her perspective as a mom learning about what health really looks like. A few years ago, Katie had no clue that non-traditional healthcare even existed and just assumed that the traditional healthcare model was the best (and only) option. Eventually, Katie came to the realization that nothing in life is truly neutral and that every decision we make influences us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Katie and her husband started thinking carefully about their convictions and the decisions they were making.

In our conversation, Katie shares how this change of perspective, which was really a revelation from God, took place and how it has changed the way she and her family do things. Katie approaches parenting from a proactive standpoint instead of a reactive one and this has meant making choices to keep her kids from unnecessary stress and fear, especially during the past couple of years. In the past few years, Katie started homeschooling her kids and during this time gained a higher awareness of her son’s struggles with anxiety, sensory processing, and more. Katie heard about Connect My Brain and several months later, her son has seen great improvements and has graduated from the Connect My Brain program! Katie’s story is an encouragement to take your journey one day at a time, to focus on the present moment, and to trust God’s plan for your life.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The change in perspective that changed Katie’s entire life
  • Making changes for your kids and family
  • The danger of overplanning: missing what’s right in front of you
  • Living in the present and letting go of control
  • Katie’s experience at Connect My Brain
